Hi,

I recently treated myself to a Cintiq 24HD (yay) but unfortunately, having ‘enable rotate canvas’ switched on has made Sketchbook Pro barely usable on it (boo).

I know this thing is a bit of a beast, but I was surprised just how badly SBP fares, given how brilliant it was on the 12WX. Yes I know, hugely different devices…

I’ve had to disable rotate canvas, as otherwise I just cannot move any selections about, they just float long at their own pace and become impossible to drop where I want them to. Zooming in and out has massive lag, and changing the brush size in the puck has to be done with a millisecond swipe, or it will sit there going up or down until it either disappears it’s so small or goes to it’s maximum size.

Would appreciate some feedback as to whether there is anything I can do to improve performance. having rotate canvas off on this bad boy is a severe disadvantage, as you cannot rotate the tablet because a) it doesn’t rotate like the 21UX and b) it’s too damn big to be shifting into an angle on the desk when I would normally rotate the image.

System specs are:

Intel Core i7 3.07 GHz
RAM: 18GB
HDD 1TB + 500MB
Video cards: 2x Nvidia GTX 260 (one for each screen)
Screens: 24” Dell Ultra Sharp (main) - Cintiq 24HD (secondary)

This doesn’t really happen in other programmes with rotate canvas. Photoshop is not perfect, but it’s usable. I’ve tried setting the Cintiq to be the main monitor when I’m using SBP, but it has made a minimal amount of difference, it’s still barely usable..

I don’t want to stop using SBP, but in it’s current state on my machine it’s not worth the pain. :(

I’m getting this too using a 21UX: It seems to affect all UI tools such as brush manipulation and guides, and gets worse over time.

I can’t seem to find it now, but an earlier google search had a post from someone at Autodesk which said this was a known issue, and referred to deleting the application preferences in AppData. I don’t recommend doing this without finding the post I’m referring to though, so if anyone from AD can confirm it I’d be very grateful.
