Hi,

I imported a model .fbx from maya to mudbox.

In maya:
Export selection > Scale factor: 10,0 (to get a bigger model in mudbox)

In Mudbox however, the strength can only be a very small number. For example: a strength of 2.000 is already giving large pikes.
This, is giving problems with the Spray tool in mudbox. I cannot see the stamp properly on my model.
What should I do??

Why did you export 10,0? You should probably use 1:1 scaling. I understand you want it bigger in Mudbox, but I think this is what’s causing your problem. But keep in mind your strength can go below 1.0 so you can still make it smaller.

That is in .mm the smallest export options. However the size is not the problem. I can increase the size of the model in Mudbox. It is the strength thatis giving problems! If I go below 1 I can hardly see the texture beeing stamped on the model. If I increase the number of the brush strength I get a big bump (see print screen in first post) and I do not see the texture beeing stamped.

Thanks for your reply though :-)

i always group my objects before sending to mudbox and scale them by 30-50. you can tell the exact scale by exporting the base human head from mudbox to your scene..then scale your group so it looks the same size as the head (if it’s a character and it’s head..head to head size, if it’s a car..then make the car seat as big as the head not the whole car...then it will be too small)
otherwise u get problems with strength and brush size.
