Here's what happens... So I made a separate mesh for both the hair and the base for my model to stand on and as I sculpted I noticed a general dullness about my strokes despite being at a higher sub-division, I didn't pay much attention and moved on to grabbing and pulling. That's when the dullness went away like a layer being erased in the exact shape of my pull stroke (see image)... Please help as it is very annoying to work around this and I want to get the project done sooner than later. Thanks for reading. -Chris 2012-05-20T16:37:51+02:00 Please Help! http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/please-help/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/please-help/page-last/#When:13:09:22Z I have spent several days hand painting a texture, and for some reason today when i loaded the saved scene it just showed the blank object, i could still see the paint layer on the menu on the right side but clicking it on and off did nothing, i even treid loading earlier saves and got the same result, so i reluctantly started a new texture all over and when i saved and tried to go back it was blank again, plese any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated 2012-05-19T13:09:22+02:00 ----- Objects are black please help! ----- http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/------objects-are-black-please-help------/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/------objects-are-black-please-help------/page-last/#When:06:09:49Z Whenever I try to create an image in mudbox (sphere, etc.) it shows up as a black silhouette. I can still alter it with tools, but it stays black. I have updated the drivers on the ATI site (because a popup told me to). I have an HP Pavillion dv7-6197ca, intel core i7 with 2.0 GHz, 8GB DDR3 SDRAM, windows 7 (64 bit) with a Radeon HD 6770 graphics card. Another guy in my class has the same graphics card and same problem. Our teacher is unsure of how to fix it. And lighting is checked. I got a fair bit done, finished some sculpting and finished with painting diffuse and spec channels. Now I exported my diffuse channel to a .PSD but had to leave, so I didn't get to export my spec channel, figured its cool, do it at home. Get home, Load V32 (the version number of my work) model is there, paint layers are there...... but they are showing NOTHING.... like all the layers are empty, and I know for a fact they shouldn't be. My previous version were saving with "V(file number) - Files" folders, which had some tiffs in them for the current texture etc, but V32 doesn't have one... Whats worse is I can't even go back to V31 as I get this message "Corrupt Stream File E:/Uni work/Final Year/3D/3D Models/Part 2 - Mudbox/boots_V31.mud at 4503" Does this mean I'm going to have to redo ALL my final touches and painting all over again?? (Bearing in mind, I deleted everything at uni as it was taking all my allocated drive space, and seeing as I had it all on my mem stick, I figured I wouldn't need it any way) ~Nips~ 2012-05-12T05:27:37+02:00 turntable background http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/turntable-background/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/turntable-background/page-last/#When:01:46:39Z i want to change the color of my mudbox turntable animation to something other than black. I'm using PTex in mudbox and for some reason I'm getting unsightly seams that keep appearing in the same place on the mesh, they are not so noticeable in the diffuse paint layers but very noticeable in the bump map layers and after sending it to maya they appear in the diffuse. The topology is apparently fine on this particular mesh but the seams just won't go away. I adjusted the bleed edge setting in the preferences and that seems to have had some effect but not got rid of the problem. Is there a particular number in the bleed edge setting that is recommended? It may be something completely different but that seems to be where the problem lies. I've tried changing the texel count, painting over the seams, restarting with the painting completely and adjusting bleed edge but so far nothing has worked. I'm now a couple of days behind schedule and any help would be much appreciated Rob 2012-05-11T10:44:55+02:00 mudbox 2012 scuplt tool not working http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/mudbox-2012-scuplt-tool-not-working/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/mudbox-2012-scuplt-tool-not-working/page-last/#When:04:37:28Z hey, so this is my first time dealing with mudbox. And this is a uni assessment so please bear with me. I brought an .obj from maya and imported it into mudbox to scuplt in some details. But when i tried to use the sculpt tool it just grabs everything. Same with the knife tool. they dont seem to work. the bulge, grab and pinch all seem to work but i can't scuplt at all or use the knife. If someone could take a look at my scene asap that'd be appreciated! I upscaled my model because before it was way smaller than the base mesh found in mudbox (found that from another question as the solution) but it didn't work for me. find a screenshot what happened when i moved my mouse over the model with the sculpt tool and the actual file. thank you in advance for assistance! 2012-05-11T04:37:28+02:00 Mudbox Install - Running Back Action??? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/mudbox-install---running-back-action/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/mudbox-install---running-back-action/page-last/#When:04:33:12Z Hi, I need to know how to install Mudbox correctly. For some unknown reason, when I pull up the Installer for Mudbox (where it says "Install Product", "Install Tools and Utilities", etc.), I click "Install Product", enter everything I need to, and then click "Install". Inj the middle of installing, it immediantely is stopped by a "Running Back Action", saying that something went wrong. It has has done this every time I click that button. I don't know why it's doing this, but I want to know why and how to fix it so that I can install Mudbox without any complications. (By the way, this is the student version of Mudbox). 2012-05-11T04:33:12+02:00 Stencil Wrapping? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/stencil-wrapping/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/community-help/stencil-wrapping/page-last/#When:04:45:43Z First of all, I hope a similar question hasn't already been asked, I couldn't find anything related using the search. Any ways. I'm making a model as one might assume and I have hit a little bump. I'm trying to stencil a pattern on to my model (which at this current point in time is a pair of boots) the problem is, the bit I'm trying to stencil goes from the inner side of the boot round to the front. Now, a stencil is flat, so I can't get the stencil perfect all over the section I'm working with, I get distorted or mis-matched patterns. I can't get two viewports (already read about that) Is there any way I can sort of, wrap the stencil or something.... basicly any way I can get the entire stencil on my model looking right (I.E not distorted {not too much any mays} and not mis-matched) Many thanks in advance for your time ~Nips~ 2012-05-09T04:45:43+02:00
