Let me clarify some of the licensing concerns. To run Matchmover you must have either Maya or 3dsmax installed.  As an example.  To run Matchmover 2011, Maya 2011 must be installed.

Matchmover 2011 won’t go past the splash screen.

HP Pavilion dv6
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
6 gig RAM, i7
NVidia GeForce GT 230M (Current driver ‘8.17.12.5721’ released 6/7/2010)

Matchmover 2010 was working for me.  3ds max 2010 and 2011 and Image Modeller installed and functioning.  Matchmover 2011 opens to splash screen and then goes away.  I uninstalled 2010 and 2011 and reinstalled 2011… still no dice.

Can someone help?  Matchmover 2011 works on my new HP z800 workstation (that never had any 2010 products installed on it).

Thanks for your time,
Adam

Match Mover is extremely sensitive to your video driver.  You really should ONLY use the qualified driver from AD if you want to have MM working.  (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/ser...d=14959955&linkID=9242259) I don’t see the GeForce GT 230M listed but the GT220 lists version 197.45 as the approved version.

I was using the “latest” driver for my FX3800 and was crashing all the time.  I switched back to the approved 197.03 version for my graphics card and it is as stable as a rock.

This is a fresh install of Maya 2011 with Matchmover 2011 and I had never had any Maya 2010 product installed before.

Fixed the issue: In c:\flexlm\MatchMoverLicense.log file it references “623866 ::: ‘c:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2010/adlm/en_US’”
So I simply created that path: c:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2010\adlm\en_US
Then copied “AdlmIntRes.xml” from c:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2011\adlm\en_US to : c:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2010\adlm\en_US

Funny thing, mm does not really crash, it just is extreeeeemly slow. When you leave mm staring up for an hour, you get the interface but still can not work in it because it is incredibly slow.

ADSK Support said that I should try to turn off my network connections, meaning
plugging the cables off and shutting wireless down...bang it works…

BUT

when matchmover is running you cannot just plug your network back in, mm instantly gets into slow motion mode again and does not respond until you plug your network out.

As it seems there is no known solution to this problem, ADSK support has no fix for this.

Bottom line is, forget about network drives or internet connections while working with mm 2011, then it works.

This is one of the strangest problems I ever encountered, I think it has to do with some weird licensing error that tries to scan the network or so. I hope for a fix soon since this is really annoying ;)

Win 7 Ultimate, 64bit, Geforce FX m2700, matchmover 2011 for 3DS Max 2011

Hope this helps some of you guys.

Ciao,
Dan

I have the same problem.
I launch match mover 2010 (I’ve had it with the subscription for max 2010), I see the window, and it disappears and nothing happens.
After I have a window where it is written that my Maya license has expired (I have never had such a license, and if I tried maya, it is no longer installed on my computer)
I disinstalled Matchmover and installed it again, the problem remains…
I have 3dsmax 2011 wich works. I don’t have 3dsmax 2010 installed anymore, do I have the install max 2010 back to use Matchmover 2010, or does it works with max 2011.
The computer is based on a i7, 12 Go Ram, Geforce 470GTX with the latest drivers available.
If you see any solution…
Thanks,
Pierre.

I did not think that MM was tied to the Max license, but could be wrong. But FYI there is a MM 2011 available from subscription, try that.

OK, I missed that, so the licenses are linked to the 3D app.

To run Matchmover you must have either Maya or 3dsmax installed.  As an example.  To run Matchmover 2011, Maya 2011 must be installed.

So MM 2011 should work with Max 2011 too, as it does for me.
Get onto the subs site and download MM 2011.

I have 3ds Max 2010 32-bit, 3ds Max 2010 64-bit, 3ds Max 2011 32-bit, and 3ds Max 2011 64-bit installed and licensed, however none of the MatchMover (2010 32-bit, 2010 64-bit, 2011 32-bit, and 2011 64-bit) installs from the subscription center will run. I get the splash screen and then the application disappears from the task manager. Because there is no .log file with the 3ds Max version of MatchMover there is no way to know what the cause is.

MatchMover will write a log file in C:\flexlm.

I would be interested to see a Process Monitor log for the MatchMover startup.

Ok so I made the C:\flexlm folder, since by default this doesn’t exist with Standalone 3ds Max installs. This means that by default no .log files were being generated. Below is a copy of the errors I recieve:

So is there anything that I can do to fix this issue? What is the Process Monitor log and how do I generate it?

Finally got this resolved thanks to Stephen Blair.

Try the following first:
The first thing to look at is the environment variables that MM may be looking for. More information on the Environment Variables can be found here and the link included there which leads you here.

If the environment variables don’t work then try this:
The cause of my problems was a corrupt/improper ProductInformation.pit. More information on the ProductInformation.pit and ways to fix that cause can be found here and here. Those links don’t refer to MatchMover, but the information is still valid and may work for it.

NOTE: The ProductInformation.pit will require a machine with a valid ProductionInformation.pit file, or require the uninstall/rename of the file/reinstall of any 2010, 2011, or 2012 files (and some 2009 products) installed.
