Hi,

I had my copy of 3ds Max Design up and running fine for a couple of weeks then out of nowhere one day it displayed this message:

Invalid File
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\2009 - 64bit\enu\UI\MaxStartUI.mnu is invalid!

What does this mean & what should I do?

I have no idea what this is about and have attempted a reinstall but there is no simple option to do this so rather than potential doing more damage I thought I’d ask for help.

I left this problem unattended for a few weeks because I have been busy with deadlines & had access to other copies through my institutions system. I would greatly like to get my personal copy up and running again though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marcus

ps I have attached a screenshot of the error…

Anybody....?

Surely someone has at least a clue what’s up?

I read in another forum to delete the file solves this problem. Max is creating a new one.

Read the first post - the full path to the file is in there.
Depending on your OS and Max version yours may be slightly different.

Ive deleted the file and it owrked but I also work with another program called RealFlow and it seems like since these two applications work together with importing/exporting meshes, it seems like it keeps corrupting it.

Set the Windows Search to include hidden files and folders. It’s in the Advanced options (on XP anyway).
