First, does anyone find it weird that a semi-truck is not an included vehicle model in the Country Resource Kit for Civil View? Anyway, I need to somehow be able to use the Vehicle Substituion Manager within Civil View to replace a car type with a semi-truck model, but i can’t figure out how. I know how to add models to the resource kit, but the models I am adding don’t work. The models are invisible after substituing them. I would also be able to use a different resource kit altogether if it had a semi-truck model in it.

I am a novice at all this, but I have come a long way in about 36 hours!

Any ideas?

Go to the Civil view 2012\objlibs folder. Click on vehicles. Copy your semi truck max file into this folder. Copy one of the existing vehicle .ini files. Edit it in notepad. Change the source to the name of your semi truck.

Save and restart max and civil view. Your semi truck should now appear under the vehicles tab in the objlibs dialog

You can create your own resource kit. I took a copy of the standard resource kit. Added my own objects to it. Then go to preferences. Click on resource kit paths. Add your private resource kit folder
