Placing a texture on the front face of a glass panel

Hi guys, need some help with this. I’m rendering in V-Ray and I need to create a glass on my building with a dot pattern on the exterior face. I’m applying a planar mapping but for some reason the texture is applied on both sides (interior and exterior). Is there a way to solve this? I’m not that good with the unwrap UVW mode and not sure that is the solution.

if your glass object has depth to it like real glass, then maybe just planar map on the outside faces, not the inner faces? if the glass object is a flat non-depth plane object, then maybe uncheck 2-sided in the material if you don;t want to see it from the inside?

You could do it with either UV mapping, or a Multi Sub Object Material with plain glass for all sides except the face.

Thanks guys. I was thinking at your option Samab. My glass panels are built as real glass panels with depth but applying the planar mapping doesn’t work. So should I use a multi-sub material and then converting it into a vray mat? or is there a similar vray material which I can use?

I’m not familiar with Vray, but I assume it’s materials work just like others such as mental ray, where an MSO is a base material that any other kind of material can be wired into.
Just as in this example, but with vray mats instead of A&D.
