When I render multiple images to make a movie out of them, there's always some grain or noise in that movie. It seems that all frames are somewhat different and that slight difference in color ruins everything. Most of the scene doesn't have bumpmapping, because someone suggested it could be the source of the problem.

So, what settings should I change to have no noise between frames? The aliasing, the image resolution? Right now, my movies look like the intro movie of Starcraft or Fallout 1 and 2 :(

That's probably a problem with aliasing and/or area lights.

If you have area lights in your scene try increasing their U and V samples.

If that doesn't work, or if you don't have area lights, then think about your antialiasing settings. Try lowering the sampling contrast threshold, or increasing the levels, or both. Read up on these settings in the manual so you understand what they do exactly, and set them up wisely, otherwise you could end up with huge render times without any real benefit.

Also, learn how to use mental ray's sampling diagnostic tool, it helps in setting your antialiasing efficiently.
