Hi

I have managed to somehow change the settings that were there for editing models. I used to be able to select a point and right click to get a list of options. I can't do that any more and now I am stuck as I can no longer weld edges or points.

I also can't add edges or polys.

How do I reset the settings?

thanks

TimV

Updated. I have been able to add points and edges via the keyboard \ and insert keys. I would still like to reset to the defaults in order to get back the right click menu feature.

Thanks

Is Extended Component Selection enabled?

With Extended Component Selection, you have to ALT+right click to display the context menu.

Hi Stephen

How would I know if Extended Component Selection is enabled?

I've been managing along ok as indicated above and I guess the more I get used to doing it my way the quicker I am at it. It's just not the same as when I first fired it up. Now I have to go into the Tweak Tool to weld points together.

On that subject, I was merging points together using Create Cluster as I found that more accurate than clicking on weld and getting the wrong points welded together. Is this going to bite me when I try to export the model for CryEngine 2?

Thanks

I just got my copy of XSI Basics Guide delivered today. Hopefully that will speed up the learning and improve the questions

In the MCP, click Select. Is there a check mark beside Extended Component Selection?

Or go to File > Preferences > Tools > Selection.
Note that in the Preferences dialog box, you can reset preferences to the default by right-clicking a preference category and clicking Restore Defaults.

Also, as I mentioned, try Alt+Right Click with a point selected. Does the context menu appear?

Hi HTH

Thanks for the quick response. I will check what you have suggested when I get home tonight.

Hi HTH

Extended Component was selected. I deselected it and there was no obvious change. I tried the ALT click and that certainly shows the full choice list that I was looking for. Thanks so much. Maybe it was always ALT mouse and for some reason I didn't think I needed the ALT anymore?

Don't know, but you have solved my problem
