Hello everybody,

It may be a stupid question but I just want to be sure :)

I want to replace my computer (3 years old) with a newer system. I want a 64 bit architecture system running with XP Pro 64 bit or Vista 64 bit.

Will XSI Foundation 6.02 (I know that this is only a 32 bit software) run with a system like that?

Thank you!

Patrick

Yes, you can run 32-bit Foundation on 64-bit Windows.

You'll have to make sure that the 64-bit versions of the .NET Framework and the Visual C++ Runtime (http://softimage.com/support/xsi/system_requirements/v6_x_windows_xp.aspx) are installed, because the Foundation installer won't install them.

On Vista, remember to always run the License Manager as Administrator (http://softimage.wiki.avid.com/index.php/INFO:_Vista_and_the_License_Manager).

There are known issues (http://softimage.wiki.avid.com/index.php/Vista_Known_Issues) with V6 on vista
