Hi,
I am 14 years old and i have been using 3D from one year ,first i started with blender and then i tried using 3DS max and it was really boring ,now i have moved to XSI and i loved it so much that i have kinda stoped playing games:2guns:.and i consider 3D my future career not as a hobby.BTW sorry for my poor english.:frown:

and here is my first try in XSI and my first post here , a mercedese C-class Costumized .while modelling it i had some questions .

1.How can i edge loop.
2.how can i see that cage thing while i am using subsurf for my model
3.Is there any way i can move the vertices along the object and not away from it ?.
4.Is there any way to remove doubles.
5.how can i scale many objects in the same direction and without moveing from its place ?
6.can i apply textures to selected faces only ?.

hello
it's a nice start! congraluation
i want to try ti answer u, but sorry for my poor english (my third language)
so
1. edge loop use the middle mouse button ( select one edge then with the middle mouse button select the second edge that xsi knows the direction loop and use combine with Ctrl and shift of course to add more loops or single edge.

2. i can't understad the question.

3. to move vertice like that use the move tool (M key) with the magnetique option activated this will keep your verex sliding on the object surface

4. if you mean remove double vertices just weld them with vertex snap activated

5. to scale like that select all those objects and scale them in local with COG disactivated

6. yes u can. just select polygones and apply a new material and apply that texture to that new material. you'll need to adjust of course subprojections and UV.

and finnally fo the image quality just increase the aliassing in the rendering options

good luck
hope it can help

2. in the visibility-options of your viewport activate "PolyMesh Hulls" in the 'Attributes'-Tab. Did you mean that?
