I'm new to XSI. I have 2 scenes that will use the same object in different ways. What I'd like to do is have 3 scenes. (1) With the object, that has bones and poses and stuff, then (2) other scenes that use that object without making any topology changes, just putting the object into different poses.

Can anyone help in setting something like this up?

Hi twinsnakes.

U can use the Reference Model.

for example.

1) primitive -> model -> Body-Woman ---- for you is a Object in your Scene. ---
2) Select the woman --explorer --> 8 key
3) File -> Export -> model (*.emdl)

Tip&trick -> in the explorer select the object R-Click model-export model.

In the new Scene.

4) File ->Import -> model or Reference Model.
5) modify the model and save the new scene.

U can need create a empty model .

MODEL (1 keyboard press)

1) model -> Create -> model -> New Model. u can drag&dropp objects inside de new model and export.

The Test.emdl is the original and dont modify in the new scenes only if u export in the same name model.

test.emdl for modify. u must import the model and modify your Geometry, shaders, pass, shaders, partitions....

in the new scenes with the reference model. is GREAT!!!

I only use REFERENCE MODEL in my work. for several reason

1. in the scene there are several people working in the same scene and if a different people change the model , my scene and uor scene is diferent. because if use tje reference model only person change de original model, and the all people and diferents scenes are same.
2. the other reason is the size in the scene. in the work 24, 11, 55 MB for diferents model with RF model 1MB, 5MB etc..

I have a original scene with the model local SRT for modify all and i export.
