by the time everything works properly this forum will make for a good faq
i'm getting an error occasionally, once it happens i'm basicly stuffed no extra modelling can be done.
if i try to save and restart the program the save process fails due to "insufficient memory to complete operation" i check task manager and i'm not using anything more than 500 out of 1500MB. i'll expand my page file but i have no idea apart from this i can't see an option to increase memory allocation to the app
what is it that you are doing when the insufficient memory occurs?

that prticular message appears when trying to save. but the entire modelling process is halted. if i try to duplicate or extrude it fails, adding extra geometry in general fails and editing what's there fails.
is it an extremely dense mesh? have you tried freezing the modeling stack? i would also try exporting the object as a model and reimporting it into a new scene

yes, try to freeze and/or export/import, aldo i am confused why it is like that. If program has problem with full RAM, Operating System should switch unused datas from RAM (rarely used) to HDD, and everything should work perfectly (but very slow, 'cause of big HDD latency)
anyway, freezing should do the trick

low poly and freezing is no good, it's not a consistent issue though, saving is not possible as there is insufficient memory to complete operation. the model i'm working on did actually manage to save despite the constant error message to the contrary. and has worked ever since. the other time this happened i was working on the original attempt at this model.
