yey! its good to see that there is somebody updating that page!!
I'm so happy this changed because that dead page with the hoodie guy looking to me wasn't appealing at all!

I like better this new layout, showing news and projects right on the front page...
This is what people want to see... top notch stuff done with Softimage software.

Also this community website is doing pretty well... the youtube channel too...! Now we are talking :D
All this is making the company looks alive! lol

Whatever who is doing this, congratulations! and keep working!... :D

I hope this is just a start of an exciting future of XSI.
The Softimage community while ago, and now new look of website.
I can still recall some (let me call it) ups and downs of the Softimage website over the years.

If you ask me which website I like much, I would rollback to 1999-2000, a grey/3d-style website. It's not the color or visual that I like, but the website was very lively -- always updated with the news of blockbuster movies. There was even a page called "List of Films and Games made with Softimage" and guess what, almost all animation/FX movies were made with Softimage.

Last year was one of the downs, in my view. Monthly user-gallery disappeared, the customer profile not really kept updated, and sometimes, even the main page wasn't updated week after week. The site just didn't quite speak enough for one of leading company in industry.

Now with this community and new website, I would expect many good things to come. It could be the next major version of XSI, the growing of user-base, or the role of XSI in FX/Animation industry.

Thanks to Softimage Team to make them more exciting and lively, both website and community.

cheers.

The XSI page says I "can now enjoy integration" with vRay. Was this premature, or maybe you guys know something we don't?

Yes it was a little premature. At the time the copy went up, we were told this was under development and would be ready soon. We'll revise the text.

Thanks,

Leo

here's hoping you guys are working on a slew of new videos showcasing some
of the 'kewlness' of version 7's new feature set. ;)

(it would also be very nice to see little videos pointing out handy tricks for efficient
production that make XSI a superior choice as well as the feature-based vids...I'm
talking little 2-3 minute technique-type tips of common workflow issues that XSI
makes easier to do than in other packages. Might open some eyes and get some
converts over from other packages.)

cheers. :)

I just wondered because FinalRender wasn't mentioned, and I think they're already in beta. Having heard nothing about a vRay beta test, I wondered if maybe it had been done behind doors and was about to ship.

OMG Alexi is in the house!
Welcome, and yeah, nice to see at least the hoodie gone, now when the whole gray on gray on more gray will have gone in favour of the old colour scheme our lives will be complete. Maybe.
