View Full Version : A problem with dark spots (bad polygons?). Help!

Hey guys! I've decided to try my hand at modelling cars.
Here's a pic:

As you can see I've got a dark spot on my model (I think it's called bad polygons or something?). So my question is - how should I lay the edges so that it disappears?

the polygon there is non-planar. Aside from the shading issues it also looks like it's causing depth sort problems.

And how do I make it planar?

Non-planar means it's not flat. CGI doesn't deal well with polygons that aren't flat. You can either move points around until it is flat or split the polygon.
