Hi there, this is the first model i've created not using a tutorial (only ever made the dynamite tutorial model before). So effectively this is my second model.

Don't why i decided to make this, was just mucking around then kept it going!

It's some kind of weird sword.. =]

What do you guys think for my first independent model? Need some advice on what i should add or remove. And also what kind of textures i should use!

Thanks
XeLaD

PS I know the poly count is quite high, thats due to the half circles on each side of the hilt, i'll divide them down a bit later =]

Hi,

first of all, congrats for the model. It is not bad at all beeing your first/second. One thing, as you mentioned is the count. The little spheres have more detail than the hole sword itself. Bysides there are polygons that are n-sided (more than 4 sides) that you used to meake the holes.
Again, good look with XSI and keep doing.

not bad...
I would suggest you to add as much details as you can, then you go back and do a low resolution model, and bake your hipoly model into normal maps.

Example, I would bevel in some of these borders.. where isn't supposed to be a sharp edge like the "handle" you have in there.
