...forgive it.
If I can't evaluate Xsi in Linux, then I'll choose Maya..
but really I've been seeing our community, and support for game engines, the hair and cloth and the price!!. Really wonderful.
But I need try it in Linux. If anyone can tell me how to test xsi in Linux Ubuntu I'll be happy.
thanks.

Ubuntu, like all debian distros, is not considered mainstream and therefore tested against. It's also not well supported by mainwin, the current dev platform used for porting to linux.
There are no recorded cases that I know of of XSI (and several other apps) running reliably on it, and afaik only sidefx activel supports debian.
The choice deployement platform for XSI is usually some redhat derivate, or at least RPM based, and it's been run on gentoo/sabayon in some place with very good results. Basically you'll have to go for fc/rhel/centos if you want things to work right away or close to it, or go for a top tier source based distro like gentoo/sabayon, but won't be able to run off debian based distros.

Look here: http://softimage.com/support/xsi/system_requirements/v6_x_linux.aspx
I also like Ubuntu, but can't get this work :/ Today I'll try run xsi on SUSE 11 alpha3, but think this should work fine (SUSE is pretty friendly distribution for new to linux -like me- too).
