Fast light effects Force volumic shadows problem

Shadows aren't working when i turn on Force volumic shadows in the fast light effects volumic tab. can anyone tell me where i am going wrong. Thanks in advance

I don't think you're going wrong. I've not got it to work either.
just use a 'normal' volumic property on your light.

Thanks for your reply. I was trying to get the volumic effect to project an image of a stained glass window. Is it possible to get this with normal volume lights?
