Enhance:XSI has now been updated with several new volumes of presets covering Stones, Wood, Organics, Metals and Panels. Enhance:XSI is a set of 190 additional procedural texture nodes covering a wide variety of base textures, utility nodes, deformers and waveform base modifiers. For more information (including a free fully functioning set of texture nodes) check out: http://www.shaders.co.uk/enhance_xsi/index.htm

shadersjj - I will ask here as well.
How do you make Enhance XSI work with satellite rendering and/or distributed rendering?
I LOVE this package, but I have problems with it running under satellite or distributed rendering. I've installed it in my workgroup and it just doesn't want to work properly.
Has anyone gotten these shaders to work in either of these situations?

I know some people successfully use workgroups, I have had trouble since ver 5 or so, so I just install them as factory install and have no trouble with network rendering.

I think that's probably the solution. It just makes updating a bit of a hassle when you have more than a couple machines.
Thanks!

Paulus,
Here is the answer I gave on xsibase. Did you try this? How far did you get? I have it working here but I did need about an hour messing about to make it work. If you can run XSI on the slave and get Enhance:XSI to work as a group plugin across the LAN and you can satellite render with error messages about missing Enhance:XSI plugins (complete with missing blocks in the render) then I think it's just a path (workgroup name) issue. The key was ensuring that the workgroup on the server and slaves are identical (see the second paragraph below).
The answer is to use the instructions in the following thread:
http://www.xsibase.com/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=13169
Initially, this didn't work because you need to keep the workgroup names consistent between the server and slaves. I had c:\enhance:xsi as the workgroup name on the server and \\mainmachine\enhance_xsi as the workgroup name on the slave. All I did was change it on the server to \\mainmachine\enhance_xsi to keep the path consistant with the slaves.

I apologize for that - I didn't see the reply on XSIBase. My fault entirely. I'll give it a go.

FYI: I'll be adding the latest edition of the Enhance:XSI presets (Panels) to XSIDatabase.com this weekend. This plug-in is very powerful and very impressive. My hat is off to RJJ.
Later,
