I have a character that is wearing a jacket where I've added some thickness to it. I need to do some weight painting on it, but of course when I paint the weights, it's only painting the outside faces.

Is there a method for painting both sides of an object that has a slight thickness to it? My current method involves inverting the faces, which works, but is a bit cumbersome.

Thanks!

Paul

Have you got access to GATOR? You could paint your weights on a dummy object that is one sided then transfer the enveloping across. Either extract some polys from the original object to create it or knock up a simple standin.

I think this is what you're looking for:

File > Preferences > Tools > Selection.

In the "Raycast select options", activate "Include Backfacing Polygons".

You can now paint on a polygon regardless of which way the normal faces.
