Shine

For a bit of background information, I'm a 3ds max convert, and loving XSI so far.
I'm currently texturing an setting up materials for some metal and rubber parts.
The nice and shiny new metal should looked scratched and worn, so here's what I need to do.
I'd like to mask the reflection, so there is no reflection visible in the areas where the map is painted black. Also, In those areas the material should have a high specular value.
I'd also like to modify the diffuse value in those areas too.
The second thing I would like to achieve is to create a shader with 2 speculars, as if something had been painted with a varnish.
I'm not yet familiar with XSI materials and shaders, so some help here would be much appreciated.
Thanks
