Hey man!
Nice textures but the lighting needs more work.
Also the camera/perspective it's a bit weird, i don't know if it's intentionally because it resembles to a certain style (i don't have an example right now).
Anyway the lighting can improve a lot this image and i hope you'll continue working at this image because has a lot of potential.

le: the street texture can be also improved!

I agree with Adrians comments regarding the lighting, The backs of the chairs are very brightly lit but things like the awnings over the windows look like its a dull day.

But the building textures look to notch and the scene itself is great. It has a lot of potential so keep up the good work.

cheers

Hi, I agree with the lighting.
Another thing, is that the doors look like they are in the exact same angle and it does not feel natural. The doors/windows of the right building on he first floor seems like they could not be closed by colliding with the metal parts.
I also would darken the part that is under the arch on the left.
Hòpe it helps!

Hi

Great picture :)
But I do agree with Adrian 's comment for lighting and better camera angle.

I would also offset the rotation of open windows on the right building a little bit, right now they look too symmetrical to me

Nice work
Cheers

Hi... before setup the lighting you must have to setup some detail on the scene, the arc on the left is not realistic, the brick have to follow the arc profile like this...

http://www.cameresantucci.com/images/arco.jpg

Other detail on the windows... the glass are too planar, maybe an old Paris rue have a old windows wood frame with old glass distorted, try to apply some random movement to the point and/or add some light displace to the glass.

quote Macphisto.

I liek the scene, if you can just put down a little bit the camera, add some highlithgs in the scene, and adjust the pavement texture.

Oh... I've forgot the pavement texture, look low res, but maybe the problem is not the map but the shader too shine ;)

Thanks to all. Idea is not from my head. This pictured inspired me - http://img33.picoodle.com/img/img33/4/2/15/f_FAY146m_19cfbe4.jpg
I dont know, who`s the painted :-?
There are many differencies, but this scene is only for my education.

next progres - only changed camera and lights

2 things really bother me, the reflection off the windows, and the smooth curving bricks, also the bricks don't arc well.

For the reflection just find an image that would look okay for the scene and put it behind the camera.

For the brick I'd do some UV work and make the edge harder. Google some images of brick arcs or any stone arcs for that matter.

Its looking better.

Thanks Zac-Donald. I'm working on it.

Next progres - some changes and test postproces in photoshop.

The brick fix looks like it worked even though you took a short cut :P as long as it doesn't get any extra focus, but now it looks like a ghost town, its really desaturated.

last versione is good!

just take up a little bit the saturation of the scene. ;)

The stone in the arc are better than the earlier version, but you just put the stone more close so the brick don't be visible between this.

Maybe the glass have much reflection.

The roofing tile are flat...

Quote Max for a little bit of saturation.

ou - the brick fix - that was the simpliest way for me :D

Great Work!
My only concern is the lower part of the Arc from the street up to where the Arc begins. It looks like there is a smooth-shading problem of the model (looks more cylindricaly shaded). Perhaps there is no hard edge anymore because of a bevel? - When fixed, try to bump the texture a little. Right now it looks more like plastic.
Anyway I like your work very much - esp. the idea to recreate a detailled painting in 3D.

Greetings,
Marco

I really like it, only one thing I see is that if this were a photo the person taking the picture would have to be standing something or they would have to be 14 feet tall. Maybe you could play with the camera angle a bit.

I really like the night time shot!

I wonder if you had some lit candles on the tables would it give the scene even more mood.

Nicely done either way. :)

zac, I have to say that your hints are very good. and demonstrate a very good sense of the image.. I would have never noticed those particulars... What is the ultimate use of this image?

Thanks a lot for your crits, comments and advice. It's final for me. I'm sending it to galery.
I haven't time for this scene.
pariscity : This picture is product of my education XSI. Nothing more
