import - export from Lightwave

I am just wondering if anyone know way of import and export mesh from and to Lightwave keeping geometry in layers?

If you haven't already, I'd suggest you simply export your model in every available format and attempt to import each one into Lightwave, starting with .OBJ, since it seems to be a very universal format.
