Cool box rig - looks like the one from AM all right :)

The only thing I can really say is be careful with it. A little more than a year ago there was a similar (http://cryrid.com/images/temp/rig.jpg) rig available at Digimill, and they started getting letters from AM telling them to remove it along with any student work that used it (I guess they felt people would mistake the animations for their own student's work or something to that effect).

I will be careful.

AM was just mad b/c the model on digimill looked exactly like stewie. All you have to do is change the colors or change the shape of the head and you're fine.

I have a rig I made for friends that resembles AM's "Ballie".

I was thinking of making it public.... think they'd care much? perhaps I should change colours a bit before I release it?

the point is the look of the characters. AM is proud of them (and they should) and when picture appears that looks like stewie or ballie ppl start connecting them to AM. if its not from AM they are in trouble, and thats all they want to prevent.

making a ball rig is something different imho. who can claim ownership on a ball rig :) thats not sensitive. just dont make the ball look like ballie.

I have a squishy ball rig that I'll be releasing too. I'm sure nobody will claim ownership over a squishy ball.

But the beauty of Ballie is that it's as simple as a 2-legged biped can get. I suppose I can change his design and colours a bit. ;)

On another note, does anyone know who rigs for AM? I'd love to see their reels.

at my time (1st class ever) most of the rigs where developed by Kevin Freeman. soon after they started their own rigging school.
