Cant register

I recently downloaded the free xsi version and installed it. It asked me to make an account at the softimage website, but the register page doesnt seems to work very well. It seems i cant use an email adress like hotmail,gmail. But when i use my isp mail i get the following error:

how do i activate the free student version?

What did you download ? Mod Tool v6 ?
There is no activation required to use the Mod Tool.

From that error message, it looks like you are trying to register a user name that is already in use.

There are many customers with gmail and hotmail accounts who have registered.

Try again to create a softimage.com Web account at http://www.softimage.com/login/create.aspx.
