Hi there all,

Just thought I'd post this character I've been working on.
I have been having a lot of trouble getting hair to behave, so that's one of the things I'm looking at here, as well as getting a nice workflow between apps. The character was roughly shaped in XSI, fleshed out in zbrush, retopologised and brought back to XSI. I still tweak any textures in zbrush and yes, I use the nasty unwrapping method (from within XSI) where it puts stuff everywhere and I don't CaRE!!! :)

Here's one of my character sketches, It's a bit more mad here.

At the moment I'm working on the Body but I think I'm going to need some help with the fur there. I'll post it up here soon.

One thing that stands out as a little strange to me is the hair do on the top. I see you modeled that shape in and then added the fur. It would look much better if instaed of using hard geometry for the base shape use the hair tools to set a reasonable length and then comb into its appropriate shape, as you show in your sketch. I think the rest of the fur looks o.k. just the top part made me think he had a tail stuck on his head.

One more while I'm at it. The whiskers are a little too thick.

Great character. A bit similar to the Ice age squirrel, over all nice work.
