NO NO NO it doesn't do it.......i am not going to type a value in. that's to far.
i don't want to sound like a cock. i mean this nicely. I'd like to see the ability to do this. like you get in photoshop.

Hi lloyd,
In the TE, to translate horizontally (in U), hold down the V key and right-click & drag the selected point. To translate vertically (in V) do the same but middle-click & drag.
Make sure snapping is off or your snap target may drag the point off-course.
Also, here's a tip: whenever you have a tool active, you can see what the mouse buttons will do by checking the status bar at the very bottom of the XSI UI.
So when the TE has focus and the translate tool is active, the status bar will say this:
L - Translate Freely
M - Translate in V
R - Translate in U
Quite a few XSI tools do different things based on which mouse button you use.
Hope that helps.

THANK YOU!
i remember the status bar but i never check it.
coming from other apps i just take shift and move as a given.
i guess this is just somthing people will have to relise.
i shall pass this onto all xsi users i come across! ;)
thanks
