Hello XSI community.
With XSI 7 coming up i would like to get my hands on it as soon as possible for learning.

And so to my question, in Norway there is not any school that fit my plan to get me where i want in the 3D industry. So other options would be to go to England etc, but this is not an option for me at all. So i am stuck with learning on my own witch is fine by me. But since i am not intending on making any money the 1-2 first years of studying by myself can i buy the Student license?

Softimage or anyone with knowledge on this please help me out.

Cheers from Oslo - Norway

I totally understand your point and have already advocated for a change in the educational licensing policy to no avail. So I guess all I can say is good luck and let us know when you hear back from SoftImage.

Hi Daskog,

I just can tell you how the german Softimage support handles those requests. If you attend a class in a public school lets say for "Digital Arts" or "3D Basics" or "Photoshop" you can get a XSI Education License based on this class - as long as the "school" is official accredited for second chance education.

Those classes last 2-4 Weeks / Weekends and cost about 80€

I guess there is a similar type of public schools in Norway too - just call you national XSI reseller and ask him on how to optain a educational license.

Cheers Axel

P.S. Adobe handles those request the same way, I got the Production Premium Version as an Educational license - which is fine cause I'm just a hobbyist
