Job Summary
Yomego is embarking on an ambitious, challenging and exciting animation project. Our project is in essence a virtual film studio & social media destination. It will be an online community and a series of tools and applications that will enable mass audiences to make and share broadcast quality animated entertainment, alone or in close collaboration with others. In creating this place we will open up, democratise and demystify animation development, production and distribution processes in a way which has never been done before.
Yomego is looking for a Senior Technical Character Artist with a strong background in characters and animation. The successful candidate will be responsible for solving technical production issues, designing and implementing the rigs and setups, designing character pipelines and workflows and developing tools and scripts.
The Successful Candidate will be a self-starter, a keen problem solver and used to working in a deadline-driven working environment.
Salary
Up to £40k, Depending on Experience
Duration

Responsibilities
·Develop a character pipeline from Softimage XSi through a world-leading animation blending application and game engine.
·Create our application’s main animation rig(s)
·Play a pivotal design and technical role in the creation of the Character Builder.
·Design and write a Softimage XSi auto rigger for release to the Online community.
·Work with lead artist, art team and production staff
·Create and document tools to improve workflows and pipelines
·Work within the limitations of a game engine
·Work with other departments to implement characters
·Work with Code team to create a fully customizable character builder application.
·Undertake special tasks as assigned
·Good problem solver
Qualifications
·A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
·Significant experience in the video game and/or CG character animation industry
·Excellent portfolio of work and demo reel
·Good understanding of games and game engines
·Excellent in-depth knowledge of Softimage XSi
·Excellent knowledge of animation principles, kinematics and workflow
·Strong scripting skills
·Good communication skills.
·UI design knowledge would be an advantage
·Experience with Modo would be an advantage
·Keep up to date with current rigging and animation trends and techniques
