Hello we've just purchased 3 licenses of xsi (1 advanded and 2 essentials).

But, there are some problems.

First, just 2 question, if I want to move my license server on another computer, do I have to generate another request code for another license file ? Or just moving the license key file is enough ?

Secondly, when we try to launch an essential version, it always launches an advanced version !!!! I've checked the essential icon and the "-essential" parameter looks ok. So we can only run one advance version, on one computer. Is it a license problem ?
Is there one .key license file for each or all the license

Thank you !

If your licenses are on a dongle, you do not need to generate another request code.
See here for more information on moving your license server:

Check your installed licenses. You should see one XSIAdv2X and two XSIEss2X licenses.
If your license was generated recently, you will see one XSIAdvW and two XSIEssW (or XSIAdvA and XSIEssA if you purchased AllOS licenses).

To check what licenses you have installed:

- Start the License Manager (click Start > All Programs > Softimage Products > License Manager).
- Is the License Server running (it is running if you can click Stop Server).

- If the License Server is running:
- In the menu bar, click Server > Query License Server
- Under Query Options, click Query all licenses
- Click Run Query

- If the License Server is not running:
- Click Manage Key Database
- Click List Keys

Thanks, I solved the problem by downloading a new key file. So, the problem was probably the first license file.

Thanks for all your links !
