Transform won't work

Hi

I am entirely new to XSI.
I am using the Foundation, and has just started learning the program.
I follow the videos, and has come to Chapter 1, Lesson 5, that engage in Transformations.

There was no image / model like the one used on the video, so i use club_bot from the XSI_samples .
Nothing happens when i select (pressing space bar + clicking the model) the model, and try to use the transform tools like on the video.

All that happens is that the tool, fx. with the arrows, is that the little corners move, but not the model.

What is happening ?

The Clubbot scene comes with the mesh already enveloped to a rig.
Select the model, click on the Freeze button, and then you should be able to Transform it along with the tutorial.
