Hi

I have a question for rendering and lighting masteres. I have a small problem for some time now and i can't say i am a beginner in XSI (apparently, i am in this matter).

I did search but found no answers on this matter. Maybe didn't search well. Oh, ok here's the question:
why when i plug a HDR image in the pass' output-shader it doesn't seem to care that i enable effects and set the saturation to 0?
The reflections still appear colored and i want them to be black-white.
I'm i doing smth wrong?

thats because you cant handle 32-bit images in such way as you do usually. when you open hdr in photoshop, color corrections are disabled there as well. i dont know exactly technical background of this but i think its bcs these effects werent designed for such a wide range of values that hdri can provide. its like when you wanted to use a 2m ladder to climb over a 4m wall. you just cant do it and someone would have to invent 32-bit color correction for you be able to do this... which is problematic bcs your computer screen cant display 32-bit colors so far. even when you looking at hdri, computer can show you only part of its range (exposition) cropped to 8 bits. and please correct me someone if its not correct what im telling here :)
