..hi ..i wantet to make some plant grow animating so i made a leaf and a lattice witch to the growing trick..(tide in one side..normal on the other..) and build a curve that defines the shapes that the leaf is going to tak(and controlled by dynamics..) but the lattice ..... when i deforme by the curve the lattice ..every thing fall apart... :(( ................... by the way i should curve deform the lattice so a be able to path animate it so the growth happened while the deformation and the control of it be at hand... ...so any idea of how this could be possible ..!!

I'm not sure because I never tried to grow a plant in XSI ... But perhaps the best way to do this is to use Shapes.

try to use the t-gen plugin by simartom.
there is a free version available.

i've never tried to make a plant grow but i think with this plugin it will work.
all the parameters there are animatable. so you could start by zero length and
build up the branches and leaves at different times.

farhaad, i would be interested in seeing your work. :)

i bet you'll like it. :)

here is a rendering i've done using t-gen and a bit of polygonal modelling:

For stem use animated extrude operator.

For leafs you can get very nice result with shape animation with weight map combination and LM weightmap Tools. Also folding deform can help you.

..thanks guys..but i meant a close up shot with details..witch i think t-gen wouldn't give much of a control...!! and it needs to be improved ..coz' there's other tree generator engines that are way power full...for example.."vue".. ,..
