Hi all.
I'm new to the forums and I've only been learning XSI for maybe a week, so please bear with me if this is a silly question, or if the answer is an obvious one to those in the know!
I'm a full time developer and teaching myself game development in my spare time. As part of this, I'm learning how to do basic 3D modelling so that I can get an understanding of both worlds. Maybe it'll lead to more advanced modelling in the future, but one step at a time!
My problem with XSI at the moment is that I can't select a polygon with a single click as shown in the video tutorials. According to the videos, I should (in polygon select mode) be able to drag across the middle of polygons with the left mouse button down, or single click to select them. But the only way I can select polygons at the moment is by dragging a box over the whole thing and making sure that all of the polygon is inside that selection.
This then leads to further problems where I've selected other polygons that are on the other side of the object, so when I pan the camera around, I find I've selected more than I was interested in.
I'm running Vista x64 and have a 8800GTX card. I don't know if it could be a software or driver issue, or if it's just a simple misunderstanding of the interface?
I've also found that when dragging a selection box across the screen, it gets filled with a section of the UI, rather than simply drawing a box. Difficult to explain, but I think this must be down to a 64 bit issue, or perhaps a problem with my display drivers?
Any help would be highly appreciated. I'm quite excited about using XSI to generate 3D objects for games. It would be a terrible shame to get stuck so early on in the process!
Matt
