View Full Version : Netview + IE7 = Broken Comboboxes?

Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue. When I upgraded my machine to Internet Explorer 7, the comboboxes (widgets generated by the HTML Select tag) are broken in Netview. If I have Netview open in a floating window, clicking on a combobox will bring up the list of available options but moving my mouse over the list causes the options to disappear. The options only stay there if I click on the combobox and hold down the mouse button while moving over the options. However, releasing the mouse button on an option will make the list disappear without changing the selected option. In short, I cannot make any combobox selections in Netview when IE7 is installed!

This is not how comboboxes are supposed to work. Load up the same Netview page in IE7 and you can click on a combobox to display the options, move the mouse to an option, and click to select it. This was how it worked with IE6 as well.

I know the Select tag was re-implemented between IE6 and IE7. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there anything I can do about it?

Hi Dennis

Yes, this has been reported before.
The only workaround I know of is to use the keyboard to select.

I believe this will be fixed in the next release.

Awesome, thanks for the reply Stephen! I've scoured the net looking for anyone else reporting this issue but couldn't find it. We'll just stick with IE6 for now.
