Toolbar icons

I'm usually not one to put icons in toolbars so I've never run into this but why do my icons not show up in a toolbar I'm creating?

I've created a "bitmaps" folder inside the toolbar folder (inside a workgroup addon) and named the button correctly but the buttons are just black squares. Anyone know what's up?

XSI is finding the bitmap, otherwise you would just get the label.
So maybe it is something about the bitmap files?

Well the toolbar I'm creating is just simple shader presets. So the black icon was generated from dragging a preset onto the toolbar. And just to be clear, I'm not talking about the region saved into preset icons. Those work fine. Where does it save those to btw? I'd like to be able to install an addon and have the icons and everything be contained and linked to the proper places.

I was just creating a thumbnail in photoshop, saving it to toobars/bitmaps and linking to the file name in the button properties.

For those wondering what kind of jibberish I'm talkin here. Something I didn't know is that when you drag a preset file to a toolbar, it creates a different type of button as opposed to dragging a script to a toolbar. Preset buttons I guess don't handle icons the same way hence the confusion.
