View Full Version : 3Delight Expired... all scenes saved while in workgroup unrenderable in MR

So the 3Deleight demo was installed in our workgroup to test some things on our farm... every scene saved by machines connected to that workgroup got the 3Delight property applied to their passes... even those that never used 3Delight.

Now the demo has expired (and we're not buying) and all scenes that have that property crash at render in the command line... even after uninstalling the expired addon.

Trying to delete the property crashes XSI (6.5)... is there a solution to this that isn't going back to granular data and rebuilding the scenes?

Merging the problem scenes into a blank scene will get rid of the property.
You'll lose all renderer settings, but pass settings should be kept.

Have you tried merging the scenes into an empty scene? This should get rid of old renderer properties.

This is fixed in next release. Renderer properties stay but you can delete those for non-existent renderers.

Thanks guys. Merging worked out okay... just needed to double-check everything to make sure there were no missing settings. I hope these kind of things can get caught in beta's in the future... I generally would never add an untested (by me) addon in a global workgroup, but sometimes things happen out of your control.

All the best.

Just for the record: this is not a 3delight fault. it happens with every 3rd party renderer currently available or in beta for xsi, it's an xsi-bug.

We were able to cure it with the merge thing in all cases, though.

you could also install the new 3delight demo, they have updated it quite a bit so you can keep testing it.
