SOFTIMAGE will be at FMX 2008! Starting next Monday, May5th -- we'll have a demo stand at the "Haus der Wirtschaft" -- and will kick off the show with our "FMX 2008 USER EVENT" -

We have two awesome Workshop sessions on Wednesday & Thursday (see schedule below in media alert). Guests from Animal Logic (they're hiring!) Crytek, and the guys from Destroy All Monsters (UK) who did all the pre-viz & post-viz on The Golden Compass.
EDUCATION is our big push! To introduce everyone to SOFTIMAGE|XSI, we're giving a FREE copy of SOFTIMAGE|XSI 6.5 Advanced Education Edition to all students who come by our booth!

MONTRÉAL, Québec – April 30th 2008 – Softimage Co., a subsidiary of Avid Technology, Inc., today announced its attendance to the 13th annual FMX Conference (http://www.fmx.de/start.php?lang=E&navi=1&page=pages) in Stuttgart, Germany, running from May 5th - 8th, 2008. FMX is a yearly event that unites CG professionals, experts and students from all over the world and is organized by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg (http://www.fmx.de/E.62.html) Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Postproduction.
With a focus on education and commitment to providing increased access to learning tools, instructor training and certification, Softimage will give a free academic version of SOFTIMAGE|XSI (http://www.softimage.com/products/xsi/) Advanced to all students who visit the Softimage information booth at fmx/08. To help all users get started or advance their skills in SOFTIMAGE|XSI software, over 150 free training videos have been recently made available on the new Softimage Community site, SOFTIMAGE|NET (http://community.softimage.com/) .

Marc Stevens, general manager of Softimage will discuss how Softimage is helping advance the industry, and attendees will see a technology preview of SOFTIMAGE|XSI and Face Robot® software.
