Tutorial Suggestion

Hello XSI-People!

I am a complete newbie and I just supposedly finished my very first model. Now that I still don't know anything about materials, what tutorial do you guys suggest I should begin with? There are a lot on advanced topics, but I just want something that starts from zero.

The first link did not work. I tried vast.ws before but could never open it. The second link did work. I have seen the page from Google cache before. But as I click on any of the links, the page just turns white and the status bar says "Done". Same thing happening in Firefox, IE7 and Opera.
