Hello,

I'm less than a month old into XSI and I really need help getting the particles to work.

I am trying to create a "dramatic war scene" and I would like to create some explosions and smoke. I know these are supposed to come handily in XSI but I've had little success.

It seems that I always get two smallish Semi-Octagon shaped emitters and the previews
show what seem like tiny dots rather than explosions. I know I'm missing something but
I'm coming from Blender where Particles are usually directly produced by adding
vertices to emitter meshes.

Can someone please advise on how to make bigger explosions in XSI?
Thanks.

I use the name CGIPadawan on all CGI related forums.
It is also the name of my YouTube channel.

Thanks on complimenting on the modelling. This was my first ever project, and I only got XSI because of the 3D Challenge on CG Society.

A bit of a shame it seems people who really know XSI, as I feared, are "people with deadlines" (ie: Studio Men).

Help on XSI seems hard to come by and some of the tutorials are outdated which is what happened to me with the "Semi-Octagon shaped Particle Emitters".

As a result, I've been fiddling with this "cleverly textured grid" to try and create something that might resemble particles.

yeah ,getting help over here is almost impossible.
there is one tutorial link for all videos which is http://www.vast.ws/resources/xsi/tut...tutorials.html (http://www.vast.ws/resources/xsi/tutorials/tutorials.html) and if this doesnt work just go to www.google.com/translate (http://www.google.com/translate) and translate it from any language to english.BTW i think i will be back to blender in version 5.0,becouse they sayed taht its gonna be better then XSI .dont know if its gonna be truth or no but blenders WISHLIST is making the software stronger.
