TECHNICAL ARTIST/RIGGER
We are looking for a junior Technical Artist to work on Aliens.
The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated, intelligent artist with good understanding of Softimage|XSI. The candidate must also be attuned to the needs of a production pipeline and those of the animators and the Lead Technical Artist.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for constructing 3D character rigs and animation interfaces
• Animation control setup – inverse kinematics, constraints, linked parameters & expressions
• Setting up facial systems/expressions
• Design, create, test and maintain character set ups
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience / Clear understanding in rigging character/creatures in XSI
- Strong knowledge of character kinematics, deformation, and dynamics
- Have a good knowledge of anatomy and all technical aspects of character setup
- Ability to rig biped and quadruped creatures
-Strong knowledge dynamics and rigid body simulation
- Adaptive and quick learner
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
PLUSES
- Rigging experience using XSI (preferred)
- Experience using scripts to solve technical problems.
- Experience with game production
- Strong knowledge of deformations as they relate to organic creatures
- Have a good knowledge of anatomy and all technical aspects of character setup
- A thorough understanding of animation pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation
