Hi guys at softimage..
My favorite ever software is XSI, but i have some suggestions to make...
Blender currently has a good idea, a central webpage to make feature requests, public, and with votation.
see in: http://www.blenderstorm.org
Features request, can be images and videos to illustrate.
The general purpose is:
* know how much needed is a requested feature
* tracking bugs more eficiently than in softimage website (see houdini releases**)
* generate new ideas
* feedback to xsi users of upcoming features/bugfixes

**Houdini releases:
a sideFx (houdini) has a nice view on release sub-versions with bugs corrected, every week.
this is the link : http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_download&Itemid=208
(need login)
this is very useful for fast bugfix on productions pipeline than wait months to have a very simple bugs fixed. (there is no excuses)
anyone agree?
thanks for attention.

I like the idea.
It's much more focused and trackable than wish-list threads.
The nature of regular thread is that it sometimes contains discussion, features pro/cons debates, and off-topics.
It would be handy to have a central, so anybody could see it regularly, posting request and check other's requests to avoid redundancy.
cheers

if you have a request you send it to softimage through their feedback form. it is entered into a database. they can tell what is being asked for or "voted" for the most. they then can weigh that with their own priorities. it just isn't public but it is there for you to use.
now softimage has support contracts that allow for custom builds with bugs fixed in them. i have used this at every studio i have worked at. this allows customers who need this extra attention to not suck the resources completely out of the dev team, since the support contract costs money.

Well you can use feedback form, but no one get info back if they will pay attention to your bug fixes or new ideas to improve XSI. Its like to talk to the woods when nobody answer ......... I think its the point. Have a communication with XSI development team, not just put some ideas to forms and dont get any respond.
Im not afraid hear negative responds to my wishes, BUT I wish to know the answer.

Well its nice idea ,
it would be great if we have options like 3dsmax ,when you make an object you can scale it easily and also those Architectural Parametric Models (http://www.xsibase.com/tools/objects_polygon.php?detail=1441) plugin's link was broken can they fix dat or any one having that plugin upload it ??
With these things in there,XSI will own every other software.
Thanx.

no... no...
this is a product. A product can´t be defective, if have defects, need recall for free, as any other product on face of earth.
bugs, are defects...
and, other point, is...
if a webpage can be public and centralized, every user can know the bugs of the software, without needs to face itself in innapropiated moments (e.g. like in middle of production).
this approach is much more efficient and usefull for ALL community of XSI users.
not need pay for support of little bugs, like screen refresh defective, or passes that not render shadows if you not restart software. pay for this type of ridiculous bugfixes have no excuses.
payed support is for another things like specific problems on production, etc.
there not "sucked resources" of dev team here. they are payed for this!
see the policy of bugfixes of sidefx. This exactly what we want for xsi.
thanks for attention.

Thats great Malcolm, but wouldnt be better has it here or official handled by Softimage side, so we can get respond on each bug from them too? Well I know that is question for Softimage more then you.
I was just thinking about in that way.

Yes, and no...
My idea, is make the site, and each month compile all data of bug reports, and feature request, and make this available for download. (In theory for Softimage too).
