Hi, I'm a newcomer to Mod Tool and i'm trying to export a very basic weapon with ActorX but i seem to of ran into a dead end. I've made a quick test weapon and using tutorials i've managed to so far get it textured, Rigged and animated (just fire, pullup and putdown for now) by using keyframes.

At this point i don't know what to do next. My gun has 1 bone starting in the center of the handle to the tip of the barrel and have renamed root to Base and the end effector to Muzzle. I tried exporting a PSK but when i import the PSK into Unreal Editor the mesh shows up fine but when i highlight the bones i only see the joint i named Base but I don't see the bone stretching up to the tip of the barrel and i don't see the end effector i renamed Muzzle.

Anyone got any tips on where i'm going wrong? I've searched for XSI to Unreal Engine workflow tutorials but found nothing about basic rigging, animating and exporting for Unreal Engine so any help at all would be really appreciated.

thanks.

EvilMash,
Actually the root and the bone are right on top of each other.
Here is a picture of the hierarchy needed for export up:http://jentzen.mooney.googlepages.com/weaponUT.JPG/weaponUT-full;init:.JPG
EvilMash it is my fault that there is not a XSI weapon tutorial. This tutorial will help you the rest of the way on your journey to get your weapon in game.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry it's took me so long to get back but i don't get much pc time lately thanks to a newborn baby needing much of my attention. :)

Anyway. After messing around with the skeleton for a while and using the tutorial you pointed me too i managed to get some animation into unreal and seems to all be working ok so far. I've yet to start work on the UScript classes i need to see if the animations work in-game, But as soon as i get a little more time i'll give it a go.

Once again thanks for the reply, As soon as i make more progress i'll post some pics.
